DRC Kicks Off Clambake Raffle

DRACUT – The Rotary Club of Dracut has announced the kickoff of its Clambake For 10 fundraiser for 2012. For more than a decade, the club has been holding the drive, raising  thousands of dollars to support Dracut Rotary charities. Donations are $5.00 per ticket and the drawing will be held on July 10, 2012.

“It’s a mouth watering feast that both winner and guest will enjoy,” said Clambake Committee Chair Lee Ouellette.

The winner and 9 invited guests receive an old-fashioned, Down East Clambake, including appetizer, clam chowder, steamers, boiled lobster, barbecued chicken, corn on the cob and dessert. Club members will dish up the feast at a reasonable location of the winner’s choice, on a mutually convenient date. The Rotarians do everything, from setup, cooking, serving and clean-up.  All the winner and guests have to do is show up.

“We’ve never had an unhappy winner,” said Clambake Committee member Jim Buxton.

Over the past several years, the Club has opened the fundraiser to other non-profit organizations. All the participating organization needs to do is sell a $5 ticket to receive a $3 donation from Dracut Rotary. The remaining $2 proceeds benefit Dracut Rotary Club Charities. Several organizations took advantage of the unique opportunity last year, selling hundreds of tickets and receiving thousands of dollars from Dracut Rotary Club in return.

“It’s a win – win for everyone,” said Buxton.

“Whether you are an individual or a non-profit organization, don’t miss your chance to win this great Clambake,” said Ouillette.
