Preparations are now underway for the 7th Annual Gingerbread House Competition to be held on Saturday, December 7th, at Harmony Hall in Dracut, in conjunction with the town’s Festival of Lights tree-lighting. Event Chair Sue Neary outlined the details for this year’s competition at the Club’s September Board of Directors’ meeting.
The 7th Annual Gingerbread House Competition will feature 4 categories: Professionals (bakers, chefs, etc.); Amateurs; Young Adults (age 13 to 18); Children (to age 12, including youth groups). The public is invited to view the Gingerbread creations from 11am until 7pm. Guests at the event will vote for the winning entrants in each category. Prizes will be awarded to the top three contestants in each group.
Again this year, admission, music, snacks, coffee and cocoa are free. There will be gingerbread cookies for children to decorate all day and Santa Claus will be dropping by from 5pm to 7pm.
“This is a community celebration and we hope everyone will help us celebrate the joy of the holiday season,” said Sue.
As in past years, donations will be accepted for the Dracut Food Pantry and all proceeds from the event will benefit the Pantry as well. For more information, contact Sue Neary at firstname.lastname@example.org.
